Forging our own path
The Winnipeg Ronins are Manitoba’s only independent university-level wrestling team.
We are open to all university and college students across the province, as well as elite Grade 12 wrestlers ready for the next level.
We offer two competitive streams:
• Canada Only
• Canada & U.S.
Our athletes compete in NCAA Division I, II and NAIA open tournaments, as well as Canadian university open freestyle events in Saskatchewan and Ontario.
We train in both folkstyle and freestyle year-round.
Whether you’re a student at the University of Manitoba, the University of Winnipeg, Red River College Polytechnic — or an NCAA athlete seeking a competitive environment with lower tuition in Canada — the Ronins are your team.

Why Training
the Programs
We train on the mats five days a week.
Athletes have full access to the NextGen RTC, with 24/7 entry to our strength facility and dedicated recovery room featuring a sauna and ice bath

We currently have a small roster of middleweights, but no heavyweights or lightweights yet..
